With over 30 years in the building trade, Kurt has an extremely unique background. His experience ranges from running large-scale HVAC projects to working as a lead pyrotechnician. He has also been a member of a safety committee for a major piping and ventilation company in Chicago. These experiences and training give him an incredible skill set for home inspecting. He not only knows what defects to look for in a home, he can also point out safety concerns that others might miss. In addition to his superior level of construction knowledge, Kurt also has a knack for being communicative with his customers. He strives to ensure that they leave with a complete understanding of their home. This skill set came from not only directly managing dozens of people on job sites, but more importantly from being a father of five. Although Kurt has great experience working on commercial projects, he has worked on residential properties both professionally and for his family. Kurt has completely gutted and remodeled a home for his oldest son in Michigan. From pouring the concrete to wiring the electrical system, Kurt designed, drew, and built his current home in Niles, Illinois as well. These unique experiences combine to form a set of skills that cannot be taught in a class.
In addition to his work, Kurt also has a passion for horticulture. He’s known for having something new blooming in his yard each week. He spent many summers working at landscape companies and working on a hospital landscaping crew. He enjoys growing his own herbs and cooking for his family on holidays. Although sometimes it can feel like a curse, Kurt also has a desire to learn something new everyday. He is always trying to better himself and his crafts.
